Mission Statement

Project Description
The idea of this project is to provide a way of learning the open source way. Naturally, the project will be build upon other existing jakarta frameworks and projects. The project is more like a meta project which consists of other smaller projects such as user management, forum, FAQ, tools and code snippet repository for other to use. It relies on the use of jakarta-turbine as the framework of choice.

Project Purpose and Summarization
Myjug community project is a web-based collaborative undertaking to build community site for Malaysian Java Use Group. The project is based on popular language, Java(tm). It consists of an admin weblet, forum weblet and a couple other services for myjug members. Currently, there are about 200 members in this web community. True to the nature of OO, we will be building the site using jakarta frameworks and projects, for instance, jakarta-turbine, jakarta-james and jakarta-avalon to name a few. Given the nature of our project and geographical location of members, we strongly believe that SourceForge development environment would be the best option in providing facilities to our group. Particularly, the CVS repository for source versioning, project personal page for keeping member up-to-date with the changes and forum for helping members out in participating. This project will serve as a learning process to our members and definitely as another way of killing time!
